Dr. Kabir Jivraj has been a clinical professor at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Medicine since July 2001 and has taught undergraduate and graduate students at the U of C since 1988. He is the Managing Director of Age Care Investments Ltd., and served as the Senior Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer of the Calgary Health Region and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
Kabir also served as the President of the Alberta Medical Association in 1996/1997 and received the Association’s Medal of Distinguished Service in May 2000. He has served as the Honorary Treasurer of the Canadian Medical Association, the Chair of the Board of the United Way of Calgary and Area (2006/2007), as well as a member of the Board of the Calgary Homeless Foundation and the Calgary Health Trust. Currently, Kabir is a member of the Advisory Board for the Faculty of Medicine at University of Calgary.
Kabir was honoured in 2006 as one of The 100 Alberta’s Physicians of the Century by the Alberta Medical Association and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. In 2012, he was one of only 30 Canadian physicians selected by the Canadian Medical Association to receive the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal.
