Who is the Calgary Police Foundation?

The Calgary Police Foundation (CPF) was established to partner exclusively with the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and fund programs that reduce children and youth victimization and criminal activity by focusing on education, prevention and early intervention. CPF-funded programs help ensure Calgary is a safer place to live and raise our families. The CPF funded programs fall within the CPS Crime Prevention and Reduction Continuum.

OUR PURPOSE:  Safe kids, safe families, safe Calgary.

OUR MANDATE:  The Calgary Police Foundation is an independent entity that partners exclusively with the Calgary Police Service. Together we support carefully selected community initiatives to prevent children and youth from victimization and engaging in criminal activity.  This is achieved by focusing on education, early intervention and prevention programs which are not funded by traditional government sources.

OUR PROMISE:  Committed to keeping children safe and strong.

Calgary Police Foundation funded programs help ensure Calgary is a great place to live and raise our families.

OUR HISTORY: The Calgary Police Foundation has long been a dream of the CPS. The vision was to have an independent agency that would leverage the Calgary Police Service’s strength and credibility, and fund their partnerships with reputable community agencies.

The Calgary Police Commission lent their weight and expertise, and began the process of forming the Calgary Police Foundation in 2010. A dedicated Board of Directors, recruited by Board Chair Brian Ferguson, provided guidance and leadership to the organization, and the CPF received its charitable status in late 2011.
